  Any behavior you regret due to JW teaching

  does anyone wish they could make amends for mistakes made as a jw?

  i tried very hard to follow the teachings very closely, right down to shunning some of my relatives who were df'd.

  i also think i was very judgemental and hard on others..

  10 years ago I was as an elder memeber of a judicial committee with a young sister, who admitted to have sex with her worldly boyfriend several times. I insisted to disfellowship her, since it happend several times...

  So she was DF, got married, 6 months latter got back.

  Wish to be able to get back in time, but unfortunatelly it is not possible.

  hi, in close cooperation with the governing body of jw i organized for you a memorial lottery.

  just take a guess: how much will be reported by wt partaking at the 2009 memorial?

  the prize for whoever will be the closest: dinner with the governing body in brooklyn hdq.. my guess: 11.543 partaking.

  Latest Witness Rumor

  apparently, there are new rumors about a brother talking with people at the un about religion.

  supposedly, they told him that they want to "turn on religion" by taxing churches.

  this is all ok with witnesses because the society is wisely taking ownership of kingdom halls and so they can afford to pay the taxation.. when i heard this explanation, i didn't know whether to puke or laugh out loud.

  Dear Marco,

  It is becouse the end is so...... close you know? I expect Armageddon to come this year before winter.... Thats why WTS is doing cost cutting downsizing, selling property, decreasinng the amount of magazines printed.. , cutting of meeting arrangements ... That all is a proof the end will come verrrrry verrrrrrry sooooooon!!!

  Memorial experiences

  so we finished our memorial ... when we got to the conclusion, one elder was asked to say cocncluding words... he got on the platform to read a letter from our branch office:.

  "dear brothers an sisters, we are happy we were able to celebrate memorial, blah blah, especially, we are happy there were so many new ones in the audience ...." this all was read from a letter printed several day ago ... so i think our local bethel is kind of a prophet - knowing ahead of time, there will be "many new ones" in the audience .... your experiences?.

  Hey, whats wrong with Smurfs???

  i was baptized in early 90s and live in eastern europe.. from your comments i noticed, that some time in the past jws had a problem with smurfs... like being afraid of or avoiding ... i never heard anything about that in my dub life... .

  so is there some story behind that?

  They took their young child and his stuffed Smurf toy (to KH). At some point during the meeting, the Smurf doll apparently got up, said, "I've had enough of this shit!", and walked out of the Kingdom Hall.

  Till now I thought Iam an apostate, but now I understand - In fact Iam a Smurf!!!

  From your comments I noticed, that some time in the past JWs had a problem with Smurfs... like being afraid of or avoiding ... I never heard anything about that in my DUB life...

  So is there some story behind that? Did you play with Smurfs as kids? Watched movies???
